Are We a Good Fit?

My Approach

My core approach is person centered with a foundation of feminist theory, mindfulness, humanistic theory. I deeply enjoy working with adult Autism, ADHD and the LGBTQIA+ community.  Additionally, I bring cultural context and generational trauma into session, i.e. examining how our environment impacts our mental health. I am a Certified Intuitive Counselor which allows me to specialize in body image, eating disorders and disordered relationships with food and movement. I value humanity and use my humor, love of Tik Tok and high energy to connect with my clients. Vulnerability is a cornerstone of my work with my clients as well as empowering people to advocate for their needs.

The Fun Stuff

Hello! I am the owner of Intuitive Growth Counseling, starting this practice is one of my passion projects. I am someone with many passion projects at any given time. Currently I have a body acceptance instagram, a mental health Tik Tok and am working on a podcast! I love going for walks, nature, spending time with my children/ Husband, reading, watching the Great British Bake Off and connecting with other therapists. I am passionate about Health at Every Size and working with women to advocate for themselves. I have suffered with body image and restriction my entire life and have a special love for helping people reconnect and value their bodies. Fat positivity is important to me as I believe we need to celebrate all body types. I value being an empath and enjoy working with people on creating healthy boundaries as a highly sensitive person.

Identities

The therapist’s identity is a factor that can no longer be ignored in the therapeutic relationship. I am late in life diagnosed Autistic and ADHD,  a larger bodied, cis, queer, white woman and this identity has allotted me privileges that I cannot ignore. I strive to work towards anti racism and want to create a safe environment for my clients. I will always be open to feedback.

Are We a Good Fit?

My Approach

My core approach is person centered and guided with an emphasis on self-love, mindfulness, holistic, and cognitive behavioral in nature. I meet the client where they are and honor all different complexities that life can bring. I want to empower my clients to be the best versions of themselves and aim to create and hold a safe space in order to achieve that goal. I challenge my clients to overcome their negative thinking, negative self-talk, and destructive behaviors by cultivating the special skills needed to do so. As a guide along the way my hope is to light the path of healing for all people that seek a better life for themselves through introspective and the reflective work done in therapy. I help clients do the real work in therapy, the heavy lifting, that can bring lasting and profound change to their lives. By helping my clients achieve increased self-awareness and consistent practices within their daily lives we can find the beginnings of peace within our mind, body, & soul.

The Fun Stuff

Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor specializing in Addiction Treatment. I also have experience working with people in psychiatric emergencies and crises as well as those with co-occurring and mood disorders. When I am not working with people in the community, I love spending time in nature with family, camping, seeing live music, and doing yoga. I am a highly spiritual person; I believe the universe is conspiring to shower us with blessings.

Identities

I strive to be a therapist that creates a safe space for all to share and feel seen. As a young white woman in this field my privileges are not unnoticed. I am a LGBTQ affirming therapist and strive to be an advocate and ally for all. I am anti-racist and acknowledge the systematic and institutional racism and prejudice that continues to unfold to this day.
